About us

Sethi De Clercq & James Abela

With decades of combined experience in education, we are passionate about empowering teachers and students with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Our focus has always been on making learning engaging, practical, and accessible—whether through computational thinking, hands-on technology integration, or high-quality professional development.

Our Story Starts in early 1998

James began his career in computing in 1998, first in industry and then in education, where he found his true passion; helping students think computationally. Over the years, he has authored books, written journal articles, and spoken at global conferences such as ISTE, BETT, and Google Singapore. He played a key role in establishing the South East Asia Computer Science Teachers Association (SEACSTA), creating a network of educators dedicated to advancing computing education.

Sethi’s journey in education spans over 15 years, with experience across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary Computer Science. Originally from Belgium, he has built a career around hands-on learning and the meaningful integration of technology into teaching. He has spoken at numerous Educational Conferences and supports AppsEdu with training and content creation for their key partners such Google. As the creator of the Flipped Classroom Tutorials YouTube Channel, he shares practical EdTech strategies with a global audience of over 300,000 educators.

Our Mission and Core Values

At the heart of our work is the belief that education should be engaging, inclusive, meaningful and future-focused.

James is committed to ensuring that students not only learn to code but also develop the problem-solving skills that will serve them throughout their lives. As an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Innovator, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, he continually seeks ways to make computer science more accessible and relevant.

Sethi has dedicated his career to supporting teachers in integrating technology effectively. As a keynote speaker, international trainer, and Head of Key Stage 1, he has led digital transformations in schools, helping educators adopt tools that enhance learning rather than distract from it. His expertise has helped countless teachers worldwide navigate the evolving landscape of education technology. He is also a Google Innovator and Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and Common Sense Media Certified Educator.

Together, we are committed to fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. One where students and teachers alike feel empowered to explore, experiment, and grow.
